Our summer regional meetings provide our staff the chance to travel across the state to meet with our members in person, convening them for discussion, sharing and fun. This year, we explored challenges and solutions related to water. The groups also had fun creating vision boards for our “why” and the ideal state of conservation in Colorado. Each meeting featured a unique walking tour on conserved land.
Southwest Regional Meeting - Durango
Our day started with a walking tour of Oxbow Park and Preserve, graciously hosted by La Plata Open Space Conservancy and City of Durango, which partnered to conserve this space. Then we headed to Fort Lewis College for an afternoon of connection and discussion.
Front Range Regional Meeting - Loveland/Berthoud
Many thanks to Root Shoot Malting and the Olander family for hosting us and showing us around their malthouse in Berthoud. The farm is being conserved under easement in partnership with Colorado Open Lands. At the end of the day we headed to happy hour at City Star Brewing (their craft malt is supplied by Root Shoot!).
Northern-Central Regional Meeting - Fraser
We had the pleasure of touring the beautifully conserved Silver Spur Ranch in Tabernash, where landowner Deb Culig raises alpacas. Then we headed to the Fraser Valley Distillery for our final 2022 regional meeting and happy hour at the distillery.
