We have a new look!
Keep It Colorado has a fresh new logo, a refined mission statement and a new set of core values. We're excited to tell you about the changes.
First, we have newly designed logo - see it throughout our website!
Our vision statement remains the same:
We envision a Colorado where people, lands, waters and wildlife thrive.
But we did refine and evolve our mission statement:
Our mission is to unite, elevate and empower Colorado’s conservation community to protect the lands and waters that define our state.
We are also happy to share our new core values:
We believe that the charge of our organization is to deliver industry leadership. That leadership is dependent on how well we follow a set of guiding principles that help us make decisions, choose direction and drive our work every day in pursuit of our vision and mission. Here are our core values:
Colorado. We are energized by the intrinsic return we get from nature. We believe that whether a person was born here or came here, there is strong identity in connecting to this place and in nurturing a desire to protect it.
Bold ideas. We have a vision for the future. To carve a path forward and build a movement toward that vision, we believe in the power of thinking creatively, experimenting with different approaches and exploring uncharted territory.
Problem-solving. We are thinkers and problem-solvers. We are committed to creating actionable plans and roadmaps based on careful thought, strategy, research and historical experiences.
Inclusive and collective approach. We are collaborative unifiers in approach and in spirit. We recognize that we’ll build a better product when the people impacted are included in the process, feel connected to our work and are invited to contribute their voice.
Strong service ethic. We are in it to serve our community. We adopt a servant-leader approach and strive to always listen and follow through, and to be professional, responsive and transparent.
Balance. We are committed to good health – with respect to our work relationships, our families, our natural surroundings and our general outlook. We take the long view, tackling problems with appropriate gravity and putting it all in balanced perspective.
You might have a few questions. We have answers.
Why did we change the logo? Frankly, we felt that the old logo was hard to read! We want folks to be able to clearly read and understand our name. The new logo is an evolution of the earlier design, representing just a few things we love about Colorado: land, water and sunshine. What we especially like about the new logo are its clean and simple lines, easy-to-read font, bold-yet-rustic feel, and colors that are fresh and light. What do you like about it? Share your thoughts.
Why did we modify our mission statement? The core focus of our work hasn’t changed. But we did update the mission to better reflect Keep It Colorado’s broad charge to create a statewide conservation movement and to be inclusive of diverse conservation organizations.
Why now? These changes have been in the works. But now is an especially good time to draw attention to the fact that conservation is more relevant than ever. Announcing our updated brand is a way to remind Colorado’s conservation community that we’re here, we are advancing the work of our coalition members, and land and water conservation are a requirement to ensuring that our natural places and spaces stay protected. Finally, people who love Colorado need some inspiration, hope and joy right now. We hope that by sharing our updated branding we can send an encouraging message that Colorado isn’t going away any time soon – our state’s beauty is here to stay and will be out there waiting for us and for generations to come.
