Legislature is adjourned - but we're not
While the legislature is adjourned, we continue to advocate for our members. We're currently focused on ensuring that our member organizations are included in the state and federal relief and stimulus packages, and telling our legislators how much we appreciate their quick response and overall support for conservation in Colorado.
This week we are participating in the Land Trust Alliance’s Virtual Advocacy Days. While meeting with members of the Colorado delegation, we're continuing so seek support for H. 1992 – the Charitable Conservation Easement Program Integrity Act – which will put a stop to the syndicated deals happening around the country. We are seeking support for full funding of the Land and Water Conservation Fund. We are reminding legislators that conservation is critical to all Coloradans and will play a vital role in our state's economic recovery.
Finally, we are getting prepared to share more of the success stories behind the conservation easement program and the tax credit. Our goal is simple: Protect the tax credit by letting everyone know that it is and will remain vital in Colorado as we rebuild the economy, provide security for local farms and ranches, protect more natural places and create more opportunities for recreation.
