Keep It Colorado endorses three local ballot initiatives
Keep It Colorado is endorsing three local ballot initiatives that support open space, water conservation and climate solutions - wins for all Coloradans. Here they are:
Adams County 1A: Extends an existing countywide open space tax of one-fourth of one percent and ensures the continuation of a successful open space program. Preserves land to ensure water quality; protects wildlife areas, wetlands and open spaces; and creates more parks and trails.
Colorado River District 7A: Enables the Colorado River District to continue to prioritize productive agriculture, infrastructure, healthy rivers and watersheds, and conservation through a mill levy increase. Protects West Slope water and prevents buy-and-dry scenarios.
Denver 2A: Increases Denver's sales and use tax to create jobs in renewable energy and natural resource management; invest in solar power; provide affordable, clean and reliable transportation; create neighborhood-based environmental programs; and empower vulnerable communities to prepare for a changing climate. Takes steps in combating climate change and specifically focuses on communities of color, who are disproportionately impacted.
